A common reason someone seeks out the advice of a plastic surgeon is for facial rejuvenation surgery. Sometimes they say that they have drooping in and around their mouth or their smile isn’t quite as bright as it used to be. Frequently this is associated with some extra skin in and around the chin area.

Sometimes people describe it as a turkey neck or say that it just doesn’t look the way that it used to look. We even get the complaint that this just runs in the family and everybody has it by age 50 and I just don’t really want to look that way anymore doctor.

A facelift can be accomplished in many different ways and a surgery can be tailored to the needs that you have specifically. Generally speaking, a facelift will elevate things that are below the lower eyelids. Tightening the cheeks, the areas around your neck and the incisions are individualized to the patients but generally are in front of the ear and extend back into the hairline addressing the extra skin of the neck and the lower third of the face.

If a facelift is something that you’re interested in to combat some of those effects of aging, we here at Northland Plastic Surgery are happy to evaluate you and attempt to formulate a treatment plan which would best fit the goals that you have for giving a more youthful look to your face.
