Sarah Crandall, MD

Sarah Crandall, MD joined Northland Plastic Surgery in July of 2023. Dr. Crandall grew up in Southern California and attended the University of California, Los Angeles in LA where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics. She received her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, TX before completing an integrated residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Oregon Health and Science University. Prior to joining Northland Plastic Surgery, Dr. Crandall practiced in Washington.

Dr. Crandall serves as the Breast Center liaison with St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. In her previous positions she served on the Breast Executive Committee, a multidisciplinary team coordinating care for breast cancer patients. 

Dr. Crandall is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Crandall has completed research and made presentations to colleagues on the subjects of the effects of dedicated teams for microsurgical cases to improve patient outcomes, modification of wise pattern to apply to mastectomy incisions for ptotic breast patients, effects of hospital attire and surgical site scrub on surgical site infections, BMI associations with wound dehiscence in plastic surgery procedures, thumb CMC implant arthroplasty. As a medical student and undergrad she completed research projects on hemoperitoneum, production of carbon monoxide and effects on clotting cascade in trauma patients as well as in gene mapping. 

Dr. Crandall enjoys spending time with family, has been dedicated to animal rescue and has several rescue animals that are now part of her family. She spends time in her church community and in her free time enjoys home projects, gardening, a good book with a cup of coffee and experimenting in the kitchen.
