TCA Acid Peels

Renew sun-damaged, unevenly pigmented skin with our deepest chemical peel. The TCA peel sheds tired outer layers so newer, healthier skin can emerge, with results designed to be more potent and longer lasting.

About the Procedure

A Deeper Peel for More Lasting Change

A TCA peel uses trichloroacetic acid to exfoliate and renew your skin at a deeper level than any other peel we offer. It helps with sun damage, facial wrinkles, uneven skin tone and pigment abnormalities.

As the outer surface layers of skin shed, new, healthier skin comes forward. TCA peels can also help improve the appearance of discolorations, scarring, acne and precancers, and they come in a variety of strengths to match your skin.

Deeper Exfoliation

TCA renews skin at a deeper level than our glycolic or salicylic peels, for more potent and longer lasting results.

Beyond the Face

Treats the face, neck, chest, decolletage and hands, areas that show sun damage and pigment changes just like facial skin.

Straightforward Pricing

A TCA acid peel treatment is $350, and your esthetician can plan a series tailored to your skin and goals.

Candidates

Is a TCA Peel Right for You?

The TCA peel is a medium depth treatment, stronger than the glycolic and salicylic peels we also offer. It tends to suit concerns that lighter peels cannot fully reach.

Three Peels, Three Depths

We offer glycolic, salicylic and TCA acid peels. Our SkinCeuticals MicroPeel uses a light application of glycolic or salicylic acid, gentle enough for immediate make-up afterward, while the TCA peel works deeper for concerns lighter treatments cannot fully resolve.

What Happens During Your Peel

Your esthetician applies the TCA solution to your skin and leaves it on for a set amount of time before neutralizing and removing it. A burning sensation during the peel is normal and expected.

TCA peels come in a variety of strengths, or concentrations of acid, so the treatment can be matched to your skin condition and goals.

Building Your Treatment Series

Because the TCA peel is a medium depth treatment, a series of peels may be needed for optimal results. The number depends on your skin condition and the outcome you want, with peels usually spaced every 4 to 6 weeks.

Curious whether a series makes sense for you? Contact our office to schedule a consultation with our esthetician.

What to Expect

Recovery and Results, Step by Step

Right after your peel: skin is red and sensitive, and some swelling is normal.

Within a few days: visible improvement starts to show as skin renews.

Days 7 to 10: redness and swelling typically resolve on their own.

First week or more: plan for downtime while the outer layers peel and fresh skin emerges.

Every 4 to 6 weeks: follow-up peels in your series, if your esthetician recommends one.
