Botox
Botox is a quick, nonsurgical injectable that temporarily softens frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet by relaxing the muscles that cause them.
What Is Botox?
Botox, or botulinum toxin, is a popular injectable that temporarily reduces or eliminates facial fine lines and wrinkles. The most commonly treated areas are frown lines, forehead creases, and crow’s feet near the eyes.
It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles, reducing the muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form. Other areas can be treated as well, including thick bands in the neck, thick jaw muscles, lip lines, and gummy smiles.
Proven Track Record
Botox has been used for more than 20 years to temporarily smooth facial wrinkles.
FDA Approved
Approved to temporarily improve moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines.
No Downtime
There is no recovery time after injections, so you can get back to your day right away.
How Botox Works
Botox is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium. Once injected, it reduces the activity of the muscles that cause wrinkles, helping the treated lines smooth out. It is a simple, nonsurgical treatment.
What Treatment Is Like
Botox is injected into the muscle with a very fine needle. It takes about two weeks to work, and results usually last three to four months. Effects can vary from person to person.
Maintaining Your Results
Botox is not a permanent solution for wrinkles. In general, results last about three to six months. As muscle action gradually returns, lines and wrinkles begin to reappear, so most patients repeat injections every three to four months to maintain their results.
