Breast reduction helps women whose disproportionately large breasts cause shoulder and back pain, deep grooves from bra straps, and skin breakdown beneath the breasts. While every insurance carrier defines medical necessity differently, nearly all cover reduction when it is medically indicated and meets their guidelines.
Breast reconstruction follows a mastectomy or lumpectomy, most often after breast cancer or a diagnosed genetic predisposition to it. Our surgeons offer techniques in two main categories, reconstruction with implants or reconstruction using your own tissue, and work with you to find the best option. Reconstruction includes recreating the nipples as well, through surgery, tattooing, or both.
Some of our surgeons also offer M-F and F-M top surgery for gender affirmation. Depending on your insurance plan, top surgery may be covered as a reconstructive procedure.
