Experienced Providers for Lasers and Fillers

Here at Northland Plastic Surgery one of the procedures that we do to help rejuvenate the face to restore fullness and to kind of turn back the clock a little bit, to some extent are two procedures which sometimes can be used together and many times are separate.

The first is a laser. Our particular laser is a carbon dioxide laser which helps to resurface and rejuvenate the face and actually tighten it at the same time. We can use it throughout the entire face. It can also be used on the neck as well as on the hands. Again, these are being used for cosmetic purposes.

There’s also new research being shown that this particular laser is very good for scars, in particular the scars that are either what we describe as hypertrophic. So, there are rays that can be really irregular but even more specific and be for burn scars and what’s described as burn contracture where the injury has actually limited the range of motion and again this laser with those types of scars can be used essentially anywhere on the body.

CO2 Laser Facial Resurfacing, Lasers and fillers

In addition, one of the adjuncts that we provide as a service here at Northland Plastic Surgery is soft tissue fillers. These are injectable products that we take most commonly and put into the face. Sometimes in the back of the hands to help kind of turn back the clock, turn back time. We are helping to kind of soften the lines to kind of hide some of those things we don’t like about aging. They don’t completely get rid of it but again it helps to kind of turn back the clock a little bit.

There are three essential types of fillers that we use. The first is called Juvederm which the product itself is hyaluronic acid. It lasts about a year. The second one is called radius which is calcium hydroxyapatite and it lasts about two years. Then the third modality is fat where we’re actually taking the patient’s own tissue and injecting it again into the face and/or the hands. The nice part about the fat is it’s very unlikely for it to be rejected and again it’s the patient’s own tissue.

On a last note we do also provide Botox which against helps to soften the wrinkles it’s technically not a filler but it is a product and a service that we provide.
