Breast Augmentation
What is a Breast Augmentation?
Breast augmentation, sometimes referred to as a “breast aug” by patients, involves using breast implants along with fat transfer as needed to increase the size of your breasts. This procedure is good for patients who would like to increase fullness and projection of their breasts, improve balance of their breast and hip contours or to enhance their self-confidence.
breast augmentation surgery can:
- Increase fullness and projection of your breasts
- Improve balance of breast and hip contours
- Enhance your self-image and self-confidence
Breast Augmentation Procedure
Breast augmentation is one of the most popular cosmetic surgeries performed in the United States. This outpatient procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia, meaning you will be asleep during the surgery. The length of the surgery depends on factors such as the size and type of implant being used as well as the patient’s individual anatomy. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places so that scars will be hidden.
Recovery and Results
After your surgery, you will likely feel some pain and discomfort, which can be managed with medication. You will also have swelling and bruising, which usually subsides after a few weeks. It is important to take it easy for the first few days following surgery and to avoid any strenuous activity or lifting heavy objects. You will likely be able to return to work after a few days, but you should avoid exercise for at least four weeks.
It is important to follow all of your surgeon’s post-operative instructions to ensure a successful recovery. Cosmetic breast augmentation is a safe and effective way to improve your appearance and self-confidence.
