Ameya Chumble, M.D.

Ameya Chumble, M.D. joined Northland Plastic Surgery in August 2025. He grew up in Martinsville, Virginia and attended Virginia Commonwealth University for his undergraduate studies. There, he graduated with honors and earned two bachelor’s degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He received his medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia at VCU, where he graduated at the top of his class. His integrated residency training in plastic and reconstructive surgery was completed at the University of Missouri- Columbia. He finished his residency training with over 3,400 individual cases, which is over double the minimum required to graduate. Prior to joining Northland Plastic Surgery Dr. Chumble practiced in Seattle, Washington.

Dr. Chumble is a board-eligible plastic surgeon who enjoys the broad scope of cases plastic surgery has to offer. His research contributions have included studies on identifying the causes complications in breast reconstruction, techniques to minimize blood loss in pediatric plastic surgery, and care delivery quality improvement. As an undergraduate he studied epigenetic control of developing zebrafish embryos. Aside from his academic interests, Dr. Chumble emphasizes kindness, patience, and shared decision making in his practice. He believes in empowering patients to make informed choices about their own bodies and health.

Outside of the office, Dr. Chumble enjoys a variety of activities. Hiking, fishing, flying small aircraft, and clay target sports are among his interests in town. He is passionate about wildlife protection and the environment. He and his wife spend their breaks cooking, traveling, and experiencing new cultures.
